When I thought of writing on this topic, I didn’t know where to start (I agree that’s the most commonly used starting line), but believe me that’s definitely how I feel.
I can’t quite remember what I first wrote—maybe something personal, like my thoughts or a diary entry. But if I had to guess, my earliest documented writing was probably from my English exams. If you were in India you would have an idea about this. We had two papers for English. The second one was mostly about letter writings and essays of the stories (Mostly Shakespeare’s plays). The only exam I actually looked forward to. Where I can let my imagination run wild and my pen used to write whatever I think of. I just need to know the snippets of the stories and I could go on for pages (I definitely scored higher in English than in other subjects. Not lying!)

I guess the interest started back then. Besides school exams, I realized I had a growing fondness for writing around the age of 13 or 14, right when those teenage years began. Writing became my solace—whether I felt down, had a disagreement with my mom, enjoyed a favorite moment at school, or fell in love with a movie. It was my way of venting or celebrating the little things that fascinated or irritated me at that age. Sadly, I never kept those writings. I’d hold onto them for a few days and then tear them up once my mood settled.
Later, I had a wish to to write a diary and document my daily happenings, but with studies taking up most of my time, I put it on hold—It was as if the Forgetters in my Long-Term Memory—like in Inside Out—had quietly taken this cherished interest and tossed it into the Memory Dump.
It is only when I got a job in digital marketing, I got more knowledge about websites, blogs, Google, its algorithm, more things around the web. My primary job was to contact blogs and website owners regarding our services. It is when I had a chance to go through blogs under different niches like beauty, cooking, design, personal etc. Since then I had a small desire to start a virtual space for myself. It was a time when blogs were booming, and video content had yet to capture much interest.
It was a thought planted during that time, but amidst everything else happening in life, the memory workers quietly went about their job once again
After moving to Sweden, I got an internship last year where I had to maintain the blogs, which included creating content. It was new to me as writing about personal stuff is entirely different from writing a professional article (in the health niche particularly cancer which I had no idea of) which I haven’t even done once.
This is when the lost interest crawled its way back. Though unfamiliar topics I researched and created blog posts regularly which helped the website make more impressions for various keywords in Google (Okay! Saving technical details for another article).
With finding an old friend again, I was confident enough to start a blog for myself, which again took me nearly a year.
Here I am now, with just a few posts, hoping to grow this space into something much larger in the future. I still find it challenging to discover topics that truly inspire me to write, but I’m happy to have finally taken the step toward fulfilling my long-time desire.
Unlike formal writing, there are no rules here. I can be as structured or as spontaneous as I choose. This blog has become my little corner of the internet—a cozy, welcoming space where I can share pieces of my world. I’m falling in love with writing all over again!
